Connor Price is a 31-year-old independent artist from Toronto, Canada. He is married to Breanna Price and has two children, Jude and Molly. In 2018, he released his first formal music project as an independent rapper; the project was titled 4 of Clubs. Before achieving this level of success, he worked hard to gain recognition, doing music in the early 2010s, and entering himself in a few YouTube rap contests. He has now released over 100 songs over multiple singles and EPs, or extended plays.
Price’s music falls under the genre of rap and hip-hop. His music does, however, distinguish itself from other rappers. The themes of his music, as well as his lyrics, differ from mainstream rappers and the stereotypes of rap. Price has said on his social media that he will never swear or have explicit lyrics in music so that he and other kids can enjoy his work. Price’s music is also distinguishable from others because it contains more experimental instrumentals and beats, having elements that listeners may not typically hear in the rap or hip-hop genre. Some of his most popular songs include instruments like the mandolin, flute, xylophone, and others. Many people believe that if something differs from other music in the rap space that it will not have the same quality. Price does more than disprove that with his music.
Despite producing music formally in 2017, his songs did not start gaining significant traction until the early 2020s. Knowing that social media was the most efficient way to promote his music without a label, he employed social media as his most prominent marketing tool. He would make comedy-based skits around his music; they would be about the lyrics or the process of making the song. He would often play all of the parts in these skits, along with different recurring characters that long-standing fans could follow. The main recurring characters in his skits were him, his producer, and the producer’s weird brother. He and his wife wrote those skits, and he played all the roles himself, calling on his experience as child actor.
Price often collaborates with other independent artists in the making of his music. Some of his closest friends are also frequent collaborators. An independent artist and producer, GRAHAM, is often the producer of the instrumentation in Price’s music as well as a frequent featured artist. Another frequently featured artist is Price’s friend and independent artist from Virginia, Nic D. Nic and Price have released many singles together as well as two collab EPs. The first of which was titled Till Next Time, released in 2023. One more frequent collaborator is independent rapper Hoodie Allen. Price and Allen also have multiple songs and an EP of their own. Price has been happy being able to work with Hoodie Allen because, as he said on Independent, a podcast about being an independent artist, he listened to Allen’s music in high school, and one of his songs was his and his wife’s favorite at that time.
Through his endeavors of self-promotion through social media, there is one series that helped him gain the most traction. That was his Spin the Globe series. Spin the Globe is a series of short-form videos on his social media pages where he would spin a globe, put his finger on it, and then make a song with another independent artist who is from that country. Price has said multiple times on social media that his wife was the one who suggested the idea, and he is very grateful for it. In the first Spin the Globe video, his finger landed on the African country of Zambia. The song they ended up making together is called “Violet,” and they play the melody on a mandolin as mentioned earlier. This song, at the time of this writing, has gathered 148.5 million streams on Spotify alone. As the series continued, it became more successful. One of the following songs on the project, Spinnin with Dutch artist Bens, garnered about 225 million streams on Spotify. There ended up being seven artists on the project: Killa, Bens, SIRI, Kazuo, K. Keed, Lucca DL, and Zensery. Seven total songs were made for the series with artists from countries, such as Zambia, the Netherlands, Germany, and more. The seven songs were put on a single EP together, along with an eighth song that did not have its own release. The song is called “Globe Cypher” and features all 7 artists in one song.
About a year after the release of the Spin the Globe EP, Price released a second one. He has also said that this will likely be the last Spin the Globe project. Following the same pattern as the first, he would spin the globe and collaborate with an artist from that country. They would release these songs weekly, but they would release the last one with the whole project. Another seven artists are featured on the project; those artists are Oliver Cronin, Haviah Mighty, Prinz, Tommy Royale, Yugoszn, ANAS, and Harsh Likhari. All of the artists are from different countries, including Australia, Canada, the UK, Puerto Rico, Nigeria, Switzerland, and India. Instead of the project ending with a Globe Cypher 2, a song featuring all seven artists, there were two more songs, each featuring an artist from the previous Spin the Globe EP. Those songs are “AMG” with Killa and “Correct” with Bens. In terms of streams, the second Spin the Globe EP did not share the same success as its predecessor, but it found its own success and is still a great project with an even better concept.
After both “Spin the Globe” projects, Price continued to release EPs and individual singles, and these other songs were often collaborations with other artists. These artists include Walker Hayes, Forrest Frank, and Maverick City Music. After Spin the Globe, Price released two more notable EPs. Both EPs were collab EPs with another artist, Buddy System with Hoodie Allen and Iconic with Nic D. Buddy System got its name from a combination of the fact that Allen and Price’s first song together was called “Buddy” and the fact that “buddy system” is a pretty common phrase. Iconic got its name from a line on Nic D and Price’s song Riptide. The line goes, “Can’t spell iconic without Con and Nic.”
Amidst all of the music released after Spin the Globe, Price also went on his first and second tours. His first tour was called “The Price Club Tour” and was first announced in January of 2024. The first show was on April 6 of that year. His friend and fellow artist GRAHAM was the opener, doing a set every show right before Price himself. Nic D also performed during this tour, but only in a handful of shows; mostly, he helped to perform his songs that he made specifically with Price. To give fans a behind-the-scenes look at his tour, he documented most, if not all, of his shows in the form of vlogs, or video blogs, and uploaded them on his YouTube channel. People featured in the vlogs were his friends, his family, and his crew members. Many fans were also featured. The Price Club Tour ended in June 2024; the last show was on June 4. During the tour, he was not releasing music as frequently, but he picked back up with the previously mentioned singles and EPs. His second tour was in the fall of 2024, and it was called “The Family & Friends Tour.” In addition to making posts promoting the tour, he also released some songs about going on tour to contribute to the promotion. Recently, Price announced another tour titled “Spin the Globe,” which, unlike his previous tours, includes shows in Europe and Australia instead of only North America.
Price has released seven EPs but has never released a full album. Earlier this month, on September 4, 2025, Price announced the release of his debut album, About Time. The album was released 22 days later on Friday, September 26, 2025. Every week since the announcement, and a little before, he released a new song from the album. Before the album, he released five songs: “Dialed In,” “By My Side,” “Push,” “Runnin,’” and “Despicable.” The album has a total track list of 16 songs. Price said with his announcement that he has tried to make an album in the past, but it never felt right. Price said on Instagram, “I’m not doing myself or my music justice by not taking the time to create an album that can allow my fans to get to know me on a deeper level.” Just like his music in the past, he promotes his music himself, so he plugged his album through social media in a series of skits. These skits were about trying to come up with ways to promote the album with his “marketing team.”
Connor Price is an inspiration for what a musical artist can be. In today’s music industry, it seems like the industry part has consumed the creativity that music thrives on. However, because Price has never signed to a label, he has remained in creative control of his music, releasing only music that he is proud of making. Many people say that without a label, a music artist cannot be successful. Price proves this to be false because of the amount of success he has reached on his own. In total, he has garnered over 1 billion streams on Spotify without ever having a label. The reason he does not have a label is not because he hasn’t received any offers; Price has said on social media that he has gotten many offers before and has turned them all down because that’s how important remaining independent is to him. No one should have to compromise when making art they are passionate about, and Price proves that it is possible.
