On March 8, 2022 the Mentor Board of Education (see video) discussed a book titled "Transphobia: Deal With It and Be a Gender Transcender" by J. Wallace Skelton following calls for the book to be removed from the library at both Memorial Middle School and Mentor High School.

Cardinal Nation reached out to Lake County's Representatives Daniel P. Troy of Ohio's 60th House District and Jamie Callender of Ohio's 61st House district as well as Senator Jerry Cirino of the 18th Ohio Senate district about their positions on the decisive issue house bills 322, 327, and 616.

Cardinal Nation organized an interview with Ms. Johnson about issues regarding House Bills 322 &  327, state testing, problems in Ohio's education system, and the SPEAK initiative, a student organization focused around preventing House Bills 322 &  327 from being passed in Ohio.
