What is Cardinal Nation?
Cardinal Nation is YOUR student newspaper.
- Written by students, for students, covering a wide range of topics.
- If you’re interested in something, it can absolutely be in the paper.
- Over the past four years, we’ve published more than 400 stories and reached tens of thousands of readers nationwide.
- Some of our works have even won national awards and recognition.
- The paper is supervised by Mr. Couch, who makes the club fun and engaging once you get involved.
Why is Cardinal Nation important?
Cardinal Nation isn’t just an extracurricular activity. It’s a vital part of our school community because:
- It provides essential updates on school news, events, and procedures.
- It keeps students informed and connected, encouraging real conversations about what’s happening at school.
- When students are aware, engaged, and communicating, our school becomes a safer place, because understanding each other reduces confusion, conflict, and isolation.
School safety matters. By staying informed and sharing our voices, we help create an environment where everyone feels secure, respected, and supported.
How can you get involved?
If you’d like to make our school a more connected place, join us!
- Meetings are every Monday in Mr. Couch’s room (C213).
- Listen to announcements for updates.
- You can also contribute without attending meetings by simply talking to a current member to get started.
- Write about anything: sports, news, opinions, fiction, poetry, photo essays. Remember, your voice matters.
Cardinal Nation looks great on college applications, but more importantly, it helps our school grow stronger, safer, and more united.
If you care about making our school community safer, I encourage you to write something. It doesn’t need to be groundbreaking, because if it matters to you, it matters to us.
