Frosty’s, McNuggets, and so much more. When the Guardians win games, you win free food! Here’s how it works.

As MHS students, we yearn for any chance to save money and snag some deals on fast food. Though many of us utilize rewards points through fast food apps, there remains a better way. Throughout the basketball season, Cavaliers fans could earn a free large fry at McDonald’s if the Cavs scored over 120 points in a game. So far, the Cavs have scored 120+ points 45 times, meaning 45 large fries were up for grabs for fans to enjoy. With a large fry costing $4.39 at McDonald’s, fans could have saved nearly $200 by cashing in on the tasty rewards. Put in terms of weight, if a large fry weighs 150 grams, fans could have earned a free 14.88 lbs of potatoes. Though the Cavs’ season is winding down, the Cleveland Guardian’s season is just beginning, and with it, a whole new set of fast food deals for fans to enjoy.
This season, the Guardians have partnered up with many companies, including Honda, Hyundai, SeatGeek, Jack Daniel’s, and Meijer. Yet, what MHS students should care about are the continued partnerships with Wendy’s and McDonald’s. Let’s take a look at each in turn.
Free Frosty at Wendy’s

The signature sweet treat of Wendy’s is now free for Guardians fans! When the Guards win a home game, you can redeem a free small Frosty at Wendy’s the next day- no purchase necessary! You may be required to show a Guardian’s social media post celebrating the win to redeem their reward. With a location mere blocks away from MHS, students can count on redeeming this reward with ease at any participating northeast Ohio location.
Last year, the Guardians won 92 games, 50 of those at Progressive Field. That’s 50 free small Frosty’s. Each small Frosy is 12 oz, totalling 600 ounces last year from home game victories. Together, that’s over 4.6 gallons of the delicious creamy treat. With that being said, make sure to keep up with the Guardians this season as they try to exceed last season’s successful performance to ensure you do not miss out on any free Wendy’s Frosty promotions!
$2 10-Piece McNuggets at McDonald’s
Are you in the mood for something other than dessert? The Guards have partnered with McDonald’s this season for another food-filled promotion. Whenever the Guardians steal a base at Progressive Field, you can redeem a 10-piece McNugget for only $2 in the McDonald’s App. This promotion runs the day following the stolen base at participating northeast Ohio locations.
Last year, the Guardians stole 68 bases at Progressive Field, meaning you could have redeemed 68 sets of 10 McNuggets for just $2 each. Together, that’s 680 McNuggets for just $136, or $0.20 per McNugget. More, with each McNugget weighing 16.5 grams on average, you could have consumed nearly 25 lbs. of McNuggets! As such, look for stolen bases at home this season so you do not miss out on any delicious McDonald’s deals!

As the Guardians gear up for an exciting season, don’t miss out on these fantastic promotions! Whether it’s a complimentary small Frosty from Wendy’s after a home game victory or snagging 10-piece McNuggets for just $2 every time a base is stolen, there’s plenty of deliciousness to enjoy. So, keep an eye on the Guardians’ progress, and make sure to take full advantage of these rewards.
