Hey everybody!

If you are a creative soul who enjoys reading and writing, the Creative Writing Club is perfect for you! We meet every Monday in B108 for various writing activities and prompts. The meetings are from 2:30 to 3:15 and are a great way to wind down after a long day of classes. I created this club so that everybody has the opportunity to share their creative pieces and can be inspired to continue developing their writing skills.

One of our most popular activities is playing board games, like LIFE and Clue, which is then followed by writing a story about what our character experienced, such as investigating a murder or going bankrupt several times. If we are ever looking for a quick prompt to write about, we use Reedsy’s Weekly Writing Prompts because they have great ideas that are a perfect inspirational tools for when you are looking for a story to write. If you are ever bored and want to try something a little out of your comfort zone, try looking at these prompts—it may be the pick-me-up you’re looking for!

And have you ever heard of NaNoWriMo? Otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month, this is a free creative writing platform that allows you to set up writing challenges for yourself so that you can complete your novels/stories. Their main event is in November and writers all around the world set personal writing goals for themselves. This is a this is a fun and motivational tool for us here at Creative Writing Club, so I’d recommend that you check it out. If you’re interested in participating in it with us, make sure to join our club next year! It will definitely be worth it.
