Name: Ryan McKnight

Cardinal Nation: How long have you been teaching? And where?
Mr. McKnight: Twenty years. Three teaching in Euclid, eight teaching at Willoughby South High School, two as Assistant Principal at Perry High School, and seven as Unit Principal at MHS.
Cardinal Nation: Why did you become a teacher?
Mr. McKnight: I wanted to help students of all ages develop and work toward future goals. I wanted to become involved in coaching football and track.
Cardinal Nation: What can you tell us about your family?
Mr. McKnight: I’ve been married for 17 years. My wife teaches 2nd grade at Hopkins Elementary. I have two boys ages 16 & 13.
Cardinal Nation: What are some of your hobbies?
Mr. McKnight: I enjoy being involved in my sons athletic activities as a coach and also a parent. I enjoy being active and traveling when possible.
Cardinal Nation: What is your favorite story of you in high school?
Mr. McKnight: Most people know I have a twin. However, growing up in Mentor and attending Mentor High School together many teachers would confuse my brother and I. I regret never attempting to pull-off switching classes with my brother.
Cardinal Nation: What are some of your obsessives?
Mr. McKnight: Sports. Particularly football and with my sons basketball.
Cardinal Nation: What’s the best advice you’ve been given or that you can share?
Mr. McKnight: Always stand up for what you believe in. If you don’t have enemies, you never stood for anything.
